A ticking wall clock chimes 9 times, 10 times and 11 times. Including the ticking noise. The clock is old, so maybe the bell isn't that perfect, than newer ones.

The bronze temple bell of the byodo-in temple in the valley of the temples cemetery just outside kaneohe, hawaii. The bell was cast in japan and had been installed in a free standing bell tower, as is customary in japan, and can be rung by anyone who passes by. It's timbre and sound reminded me very much of the bronze bell in hiroshima called the peace bell, which is in a tower directly across the river from the technical school ruins.

Plenty of traffic at a large square in central munich, southern germany. The square has been named officially karlsplatz in 1797. Munich natives seldom use that name, calling the square instead stachus. Towards the end of the recording a tram tries to force its way, using his bell for a looong time. This is a recording of a burmese temple plate bell/gong. My parents bought this instrument for me. It comes from the samples i made whilst making the music for the show 'little leap forward' by horse + bamboo theatre company in 2009.
This recording was made with an iphone 4s fitted with a tascam condenser stereo microphone in an asian restaurant in bern. We hear the sound of the restaurant with people eating and chatting while the open kitchen is busy washing and preparing dishes. One of the bus boys is singing to himself, which can be heard dimly and at some point a bell strikes a few times.
